Even if you have a truly normal skin, you still need a fundamental skincare routine to keep your skin as it is for as long as you can. Regardless of how normal and perfect your skin is, some factors always effect your skin with time, such as aging, sun damage, environmental changes, and also an unhealthy lifestyle will finally show up. So, to keep skin healthy all the way to mature age, it is necessary to have a proper skin care routine.

We basically have different types of skin textures; oily, dry, combination, sensitive, or acne-prone. But people with normal skin find it hard to categorize themselves.  Normal skin occasionally tends to change its properties with the change in weather. It may look and become dry in lower temperatures and may feel oily in high temperature. So, a skin care routine should be chosen according to how skin mostly feels regardless of skin concerns.

Do note, skin care products are usually labeled based on the type of skin. However, some products are labeled as “normal to dry” or “normal to combination.” This means, if you have normal skin, and it is feeling a little dry lately, go for normal to dry labeled products and if it is feeling oily lately, go for normal to combination products.

Women with normal skin should avoid a product that may cause skin problems, thereby creating skin concerns that you don’t want. e.g using products that are for oily skin can over dry normal skin. Similarly, products for dry skin can make normal skin oily. Also, abrasive scrubs can damage the skin. So wrong product choice can damage normal skin too.

Skin care for normal skin includes a skincare routine that starts from cleanser, toner, and moisturizer with skin replenishing ingredients. The exfoliant should be non-irritating and hydrating with AHA or BHA. Moisturizer with soothing property works great for normal skin. Antioxidant serums keep skin safe from environmental damage. Sunscreens will help to restore sun damage and protect it further. In short,  normal skin needs skin balancing products.
