Reading time 5 Minutes

While we’re multi-tasking through life, we forget that our body is also, simultaneously, in a continuous battle with pollutants and toxins that are surrounding us. What do you do then? You resort to quick medicinal solutions for the fatigue and exhaustion so you could be up and about for the next task. But these quick fixes cannot de-stress and deflate the abundance of problems that are growing inside you, which is why we need to stop ignoring the warning signs that our body keeps giving us. Because we mess up – our entire bodily functions when we’re in the pursuit of life and not what makes us going. So, what we actually need is a detoxification of our mind and body, to renovate and rejuvenate for healthy living.

DETOXIFY YOUR DIET

It is not guaranteed that only expensive detox pills can give you the desired look, your diet is also extremely important and plays an essential role when it comes to affecting your body, hair, skin, nails, and thus overall look. Did you know that, by following a proper diet, we can eliminate so many problems?

CHOOSE YOUR PROTEIN WISELY

Meat-less proteins contribute greatly the to the skin rather than meat proteins, such as egg whites, almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts, cottage cheese, yogurt, milk, beans, and green vegetables. You will notice your skin, hair and nails improving with 2 weeks.

CUT BACK ON THAT SUGAR, NOW!

Sugar can damage the amount of collagen and elastin in our skin that helps to keep it firm and youthful by a process known as glycation. In this process, the sugar molecules attack the proteins making them useless. So, although you are taking the right kind of protein and maintaining a balanced diet, sugar molecules can alter the usefulness of balanced diet.

EAT FOR THE ALKALINE

When the body is acidic due to an unbalanced diet, the alkaline minerals like Calcium, Magnesium& Potassium drain out from the body, thus affecting the health of your bones, hair, nails, and teeth. Eating more alkaline foods such as almonds, apples, lemons, kale, parsley, and pear reduce the acidity and improve the overall body health.

INCREASE YOUR INTAKE FOR WATER

Drinking water is an important step in detoxing your body, inside and out. Sip luke warm water every 10-15 minutes through the day for the week, and in addition, drink half your ideal weight in ounces of room temperature water each day as well. Add lemon, cucumbers, and mint for that extra boost.

SAY NO TO JUNK FOOD

The more you eat junk foods, the more your skin will suffer. At least for one week, stay off foods like animal fats, dairy products, white bread, fast foods, and sugar. Eat as pure and healthy as you can, including lots of fresh berries and fruits.

A DATE WITH DETOXIFYING TEA

Teas like green, nettle, ginger, dandelion, and sarsaparilla root are known to support the body and skin. Drink at least two cups of these teas a day for at least one week to remove toxins from body.

SKIN DETOXIFICATION

Since now you’ve decided to detox yourself internally through diet, it is important to detox your skin as well. Obviously, the detox diet will give you marvelous results but to gear up those results, it is important to detoxify your skin in parallel too.

Clean your skin by using an oil-based cleanser to dissolve impurities and sebum, and then wash your face with a water-based face wash to clean out all dirt and grime.

In general, exfoliation should not be done more than 2 times a week. But to give a kick start, exfoliate gently for only 5 min daily in the circular motion. and then switch over to alternate days for 1 week. Finally come to the general routine of not more than twice a week.

EXFOLIATE YOUR SCALP

Clear the way for healthier hair by using an exfoliating scalp treatment to remove dead skin cells. They can build up around hair follicles, just like they do on your face.

SCALP DETOX EXFOLIATOR

People tend to wash their hair less especially when want to save on that one blow dry they got two days ago. So, at the end of the occasion, in order to that excess styling-product residue that can cling to hair even after regular shampooing, wash your hair every day for a week with a sulfate-free, nondrying purifying shampoo. Beauty Hooked recommend Neutrogena anti-residue Shampoo.

HOT OIL DEEP HYDRATION

Use warm oil from the tips to the scalp of your section by section and wrap a hot towel on your head for 30 min. You can also leave the oil for more further 30 min without a towel. Later, rinse your hair with lukewarm water and shampoo. Then rinse your hair cold water and wrap your hair with cotton T-shirt for drying.
